Pain In Both Knees
This morning I experienced pain in both knees and the best reason I can think of for this is the stretching I was doing yesterday on the bed while watching tennis is not the best for me. Pain in both knees at the same time is unusual as I have never experienced this before so I will not be doing those stretches again.
In the gym I did Wide & Close Grip Pull-ups on the fixed bar machine where your body travels up and down instead of pulling the bar down to your chest or back of neck with cables. I found the right shoulder blade tight and very difficult to work. This exercise seems to isolate and/or control these muscles more as I have never experienced this before with Cable Pull-downs.
This is due to Cable Pull-downs finding their own easiest path down and my body adapting to the imbalance and pulling to my left which was noticed when I tried it to see if there was a difference. As this exercise is always done looking forwards I have never looked up before and spotted it. While on the fixed Pull-up Machine my hands are fixed on the bar and my knees are set on the pads so the point at which I will normally pull to the left with Cable Pull-downs will expose this imbalance and it presented itself with tightness and pain. Plus the fact that I could feel myself wanting to naturally drift my torso over to the right!
I will look out for this imbalance in others when they are doing this exercise. It has been noticed before on the Smith Machine where I witnessed some one pulling to the right by as much as 6″ on the upwards phase while squatting and this is quite common.
